I created Kirkland Style more than 13 years ago when I was just starting my real estate career. Having grown up in Kirkland (in the most amazing old farmhouse), I've had a very clear sense of what it means to live in Kirkland my entire life! And I wanted to somehow capture that feeling in a phrase. I think it mostly stems from summer afternoons growing up... from swimming lessons at the Peter Kirk pool, to short walks to the store or to the waterfront, I've really enjoyed the Kirkland lifestyle from the beginning - and I have a true appreciation for the area and its unique homes and neighborhoods. As I watched Kirkland grow and change over the last decades, my passion for real estate grew. Today, as a Realtor® specializing in the Kirkland market, I couldn't ask for a better job. It's a great feeling to live and work in a community like Kirkland, and each day I gain a greater appreciation for all that Kirkland has to offer.
I graduated from the University of Washington's Business School, my focuses were in marketing and business management. Being able to apply my knowledge and talent in these areas to my own business in real estate is greatly rewarding.
In my life before real estate, I worked as a producer for Nordstrom.com where I managed regular content updates for the women's category of the site including new boutiques and features. I later took on the role of Studio Manager for the (then) newly created in-house photography studio at Nordstrom, managing shoot schedules, booking freelance talent and overseeing the budget and financials. Having been a part of the Nordstrom way for five years, I am proud to embrace the company's remarkable service style. And while I enjoyed my work in these areas (I adore fashion and styling), I also craved the opportunity to form and manage my own business, where there would be no limits for success. My personal experiences in purchasing real estate up to that point, along with my keen knowledge of the local market afforded me a seamless transition into the real estate profession.
As full-time Realtors, our approach to real estate is centered around getting to know our clients as friends, and taking care of them as such, from beginning to end. There are few places more important than the one you call home - I love that we are able to channel our knowledge and energy into helping our clients make the best decisions when it comes to such an important investment.
Though I’ve been a full-time member of the Kirkland Style team for more than ten years now, I have somehow managed to successfully avoid having a bio page. Until now, that is.
From the buying and selling of homes, to construction of new homes, to investing and remodeling, real estate has long been an influential part of my life...it seems only right that I would find a career in something I’ve found both fun and fascinating since early childhood.
It started early. We moved a lot! Born in
, my family (specifically my dad’s work) had us circling the nation throughout my childhood. From Spokane, Washington Alaska, to California, to Minnesota, then Texas, and finally back to the Pacific Northwest's Seattle – and all before I was sixteen. One of my earliest memories is learning to back myself out of a bedroom or a hallway with a vacuum cleaner in hand, to ensure a perfect showing of our home while being on the market. Though I've found no greater place to live than , moving so much was actually a great experience. I managed to see all the different regions of the country, meet new and great people, and it also helped me to develop the friendly, laid back, and down to earth attitude you know of me today. Seattle
I also developed a strong passion and appreciation for construction and architecture, and spent many days playing in the framed shells of new homes developing around us or on the parked tractors which by day were paving the way for new streets. I also was passionate about sports.
In 1996, after finishing my freshman year at the
, I was drafted to play baseball for the Cleveland Indians. After spending 1996,1997, and 1998 with the organization and having the opportunity to live in Florida and North Carolina (and traveling through the South Atlantic Coast and Appalachian Foothills), I had a second arm surgery and decided to head back to school. While I had the chance to practice and catch bullpens for the MLB team during Spring Training and in the Fall League, my career highlight was not so much my batting average at this level (although it had been pretty awesome prior), but coming back with a professional baseball card. University of Washington
I returned to the
to major in Sociology while working full time with Nordstrom. After graduating in 2000, I managed in the Women's Shoes Division for both the University of Washington and Downtown Seattle Stores. I continued to fine tune my hard work ethic and service-driven business approach anticipating a long career with the company. However, I still found myself fascinated by real estate and development. In 2003 I began working full-time with Natasha to contribute to successfully helping our clients buy and sell homes, as well as to continue working on construction, investing, and remodeling projects. From pricing and listing preparation to buyer tours and general consulting, I play an instrumental role in Kirkland Style and feel great satisfaction getting our clients from “A” to “B”.
When we're not working, we love to spend free time outdoors, whether it's taking walks and bike rides or simply heading to the beach or into Downtown Kirkland - these days we frequently pit stop at Starbucks or Serena Gelato (which has become a staple for our 4-year old). We're also designers at heart and get a lot of joy out of all sorts of design and remodeling projects as well as new construction. When we do get out of town, it's often on a road trip to see family in Eastern Washington, Idaho, Utah, and Montana. We also love escaping to Maui, Los Angeles, and Vancouver, BC.
When you're ready to buy or sell your next property, we hope you'll come to us for friendly, professional service. When you love what you do, the results speak for themselves!
