Look of the Week: Black Paint

Yes, it's dramatic, but done correctly can feel fresh, elegant, and cozy (and sometimes a bit moody). Here are some great examples:
Looks great on paneling! (Who knew?)

Also fun with a pop of a more cheery color like this turquoise French door.
Gradient blacks/grays were used for this chalkboard calendar wall. With lots of white to balance it out, the room still feels bright.
This is a great example of how you can use just a bit of black to add interest and cozy up a space. It really helps draw attention to the architecture.
And last, a more playful application when broken up with pops of bold color. What do you think? Would you try it?
